MANAGING DIRECTOR

When will we meet you?

You'll mostly see me throughout the pre-construction stage of your project. I get the pleasure of meeting you in our first face-to-face meeting, for our quote presentation, and also for the signing of contracts. You'll also likely see me supporting the construction team throughout the build phase as well.

What problems do you look after?

I look after the overall running of the company. This looks like working with our amazing staff to continue developing systems and processes to be a high-quality construction company. High-quality, not only in just what we produce for our clients, but also being high-quality workplace where people want to work.

Why do you like working at MK&S Construction?

I really love meeting new people and getting to know them and their story. MK&S affords me that opportunity, and I really admire and don't take for granted that people are inviting me into their homes to share their lives with me as we look at helping make their project a reality. It is an absolute honour and a real blessing to be entrusted with such a big investment in my client's life.

Interests outside of work?

Jesus, being a husband to an absolute stand-up gal, and being the dad to my 5 beautiful and insanely fun children.

CO-DIRECTOR/CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

When will we meet you?

You'll meet me onsite coordinating the materials, sub-contractors, training apprentices, and much more, throughout the entire build process. If you see me, I'll take a short black, and a vanilla slice when you get a chance. Thanks!

What problems do you look after?

Quality and timeline are my two biggest focus areas I help look after. I resource and support the construction team and help them develop the value of quality everyday they turn up to site. I also make sure the team is working as efficiently and productively as possible to avoid any budgeting blow outs or costly overruns, all while maintaining that high-quality work we value.

Why do you like working at MK&S Constructions?

I started our original construction business in 1983 as Meyer Constructions. MK&S Constructions is the legacy of all that hard work and I get to see that everyday as I walk into work. It’s an absolute joy to have seen those seeds planted so long ago, grow into what it has today.

Interests outside of work?

Sleeping, tinkering in the shed, making rustic furniture, and being Pop-pop to our 9 grandkids.

ADMIN MARKETING SOCIAL

When will we meet you?

During our Design and Inclusions consultation with Steve. I'll also likely also be on the other end of a phone call or email you send to the office as well.

What problems do you look after?

invoicing, documentation, admin, marketing, and supporting the team on site from back in the office.

Why do you like working at MK&S Constructions?

This is my family here. It's really fun coming to work everyday and meeting so many wonderful clients while being a part of turning their dreams into reality.

Interests outside of work?

Outside of MK&S, I'm either being a mum to 5 which keeps me extremely busy, and I also work as a registered, emergency nurse (which to be honest feels like a day off sometimes!). On the odd occasional I have time yo myself, I enjoy sewing and making dresses.

SITE FOREMAN

When will we meet you?

In our pre-construction meeting and also on site, running the day-to-day operations throughout the construction process.

What problems do you look after?

Daily documenting the job progress to make sure it's on time, identifying, communicating, and helping rectify any variations throughout the build that may arise, help with the training of apprentices on site, Liaising with Steve and the office staff to produce a high-quality, on time build for the client.

Why do you like working at MK&S Constructions?

I really enjoy being a part of the MK&S family. I feel my skills and expertise are valued, as I'm given opportunities to own, shape, and build the construction processes and systems for the company. I'm given the ability to be creative in how to approach and solve problems as they arise, which gives me permission to think outside the box. The freedom I have at MK&S shows me that they trust me and value my expertise so I genuinely feel like I'm able to make a difference here.

Interests outside of work?

In my spare time I enjoy making hand-crafted, rug-tufting, wall art, listening to audio books and podcasts, and having the best time being dad to my 4 beautiful children and husband to my superwoman of a wife, Danielle.
